Living sustainability and acting responsibly for sustainable travel

As a family business now in its sixth generation, we are just as aware of our responsibility towards our roots and the values that have shaped us as we are towards our shared future. It is therefore particularly important to us that our actions not only strengthen our region, our partners and our team, but also consciously protect the environment.

Meiser Hotels is delighted to receive 94% GreenSign certification

GreenSign is the leading sustainability certificate for the hotel industry in Europe and has set itself the task of supporting companies in establishing a long-term and profitable environmental strategy. Ecology, economy and social issues form the basis for a responsible future. The sustainability program follows the principle of simple, transparent and sustainable and is awarded by InfraCert, the Institute for Sustainable Development in the Hotel Industry.

We are proud that our Meiser Hotels are among the hotels in Germany with the highest compliance rating of over 90% (as of March 2025) and that we are making a positive contribution with our sustainability performance.
The high compliance rating of 94% is a great incentive for us to constantly adapt and further develop our efforts.

Sustainable use of resources

The economical use of water and energy and the reduction of waste are important elements in the sustainable use of resources. For example, both hotels are equipped with the GreenButton. Guests can also make an active contribution and have a positive impact on laundry and water consumption by ordering or canceling room cleaning individually.

Use of renewable energies

Both hotels rely on renewable energies and sustainable district heating. Already 60% of the electricity is generated by the hotel's own PV system. The remaining demand is covered by district heating using waste from nearby agriculture and forestry. A new PV system is also being planned.

Strong roots in the region

We take social responsibility for our employees and maintain long-standing relationships with business partners from the region. In addition, we source 90% of all food regionally and strengthen our home region sustainably through our continuous development.

A wide range of measures have also been implemented in the area of human resources to provide the team with fair pay, further training and better working conditions for a balanced work and private life. These efforts have now been honored for the fourth time in a row with the Kununu Award as a top employer.

Plant for the Planet

We plant trees at the touch of a button

By pressing the Green Button in our rooms at the Meiser SPA Resort, you can order or cancel room cleaning for the following day. For every cleaning you cancel, you save 3.3 kg of CO², 26 liters of water and 4.7 kWh of electricity. In return, we donate a tree to Plant-for-the-Planet.

Meiser Hotels supports the Plant-for-the-Planet initiative, which is committed to restoring and protecting ecosystems in the Global South, among other things. One of Plant-for-the-Planet's projects is located on the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, where a team is planting trees to bring back destroyed forests.
