Status of compatibility with the requirements
This website is not fully compliant with the accessibility regulations that apply to us. In detail:

Incompatibility with accessibility legislation
The content listed below is not compatible with the relevant accessibility legislation:

Missing alternative texts for images
Many images (e.g. hotel views, icons, food photos, etc.) on the website probably do not have alt text. Without this, visually impaired users are missing crucial information.

hotelvor9.de

Insufficient color contrasts and font size
If the contrast between text and background (e.g. light font on a light gray background) is too low, readability is limited, especially for people with visual impairments - a clear violation of WCAG specifications.
hotelvor9.de

Navigation problems using the keyboard
If the page cannot be fully controlled using the Tab key and Enter - especially for menus, forms or interactive elements such as booking widgets - usability is limited for users with limited motor skills.

Incomprehensible structure and missing ARIA labels
If semantic HTML tags (e.g. , , , with ) are missing, it is difficult for screen readers to interpret content reliably. This impairs comprehensibility.
hotelvor9.de

Videos without subtitles
If videos are embedded on the page - such as hotel tours - subtitles may be missing, which would be discriminatory against the hearing impaired.
hotelvor9.de

Non-accessible PDF documents
Hotels often offer PDFs (e.g. price lists, general terms and conditions, brochures). If these are only available as image PDFs, they are inaccessible for screen readers. There is also a need for action here

Disproportionate burden
The following content is not made available barrier-free because this would result in a disproportionate burden for us:

Disproportionate burden
Some content on our website www.meiser-hotels.de is currently not fully accessible. This includes in particular

Embedded booking systems from third-party providers

PDF documents (e.g. price lists, arrangements, vouchers)

Embedded videos without subtitles

Visual content with complex imagery (e.g. hotel images, site plans)

The implementation of full accessibility of this content would currently represent a disproportionate economic and organizational burden within the meaning of Article 5 of Directive (EU) 2016/2102. This applies in particular to content that:

are provided via external service providers (e.g. booking tools, video hosting platforms)

are updated at very short intervals and thus cause a high manual checking effort

are based on technical platforms whose barrier-free retrofitting is currently not possible

We endeavor to gradually remove barriers and regularly review the extent to which adjustments can be made at an economically justifiable cost.

Exceptions to the scope of application of the accessibility regulations
The following non-accessible content on this website does not fall within the scope of the accessibility regulations:

Exceptions to the scope of application of the accessibility regulations
The following content on www.meiser-hotels.de does not fall within the scope of the statutory provisions on accessibility in accordance with Section 2 (3) of the Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) or Article 1 (4) of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 and therefore does not necessarily have to be made accessible:

Content from third parties that is not within the sphere of influence of Meiser Hotelbetriebe GmbH
(e.g. booking systems of external providers, embedded maps from Google Maps)

PDF documents or other non-accessible documents that were published before September 23, 2018 and are not actively required for ongoing administrative procedures

Live video content, if available, as this is excluded from the accessibility requirement according to the directive

From a legal perspective, this content is exempt from the accessibility requirements. Nevertheless, we are endeavoring to examine or provide more accessible alternatives in the medium term, if this is possible.

Evaluation method
The accessibility of the website www.meiser-hotels.de was evaluated as part of a self-assessment using automated testing tools (e.g. WAVE, axe DevTools) and manual spot checks in accordance with the requirements of WCAG 2.1 (conformance level AA). Central functions such as navigation, booking and making contact were checked.
Further measures to improve the accessibility of our website
We are constantly striving to improve the accessibility of our website. We are currently doing the following:

A new website is currently being developed for Meiser Hotels to improve digital accessibility. The relaunch is planned for July 2025. Compliance with the requirements of WCAG 2.1 (level AA) and BITV 2.0 is already being ensured during the conception and design phase. The aim is to make the new website fully accessible - including optimized keyboard navigation, better readability, a clear structure and accessible PDF alternatives. In addition, a continuous accessibility testing process will be established.
